The Ultimate Workhorse: How Utility Sleds & Trailers Make Land Management Easier This Summer
The summer off-season is a great time to do some land management. It’s time to trim trees and refill water and food sources. Utility sleds and trailers make hauling wood, feed, and other tools around your property easier. Check out our tips below to learn why utility sleds and trailers are the ultimate land management workhorses.
Trail Runners
Our Trail Runner 62 Trailer debuted this year. It is a multi-purpose trailer made with durable, roto-molded, UV-stabilized polyethylene. It also has a powder-coated and rust resistant steel frame with a dump-and-pivot feature. It has six cargo tie-down holes and is capable of hauling up to 1,500 pounds. With the durable off-road tires capable of reaching a high speed, you can tow the trailer behind your tractor, ATV or UTV with the included Steel Hitch. When you’re ready to dump what you’re hauling, use the Step Tipper Latch to remove the items hands-free.
If you don’t need the wheels, we also have the Trail Runner 62 Sled. It has all the same perks as the trailer, just without the wheels. The bottom of the sled has five durable molded-in runners for added stability. It will easily glide along the ground as you make your way around the property.
The Steel Hitch can also be purchased separately to upgrade any trailers you already have.
Trim Your Trees
As part of your land management routine in the summer, you should trim your trees, bushes and other shrubs on your property to create clear shooting lanes in ideal blind locations. When you’ve finished cutting down branches, you can load the wood into our trailers or sleds to transport them back to your house for kindling or otherwise remove them from your property.
Fill Your Water Tank
Our Wild Water Systems can hold up to 300 gallons of water. When it’s time to refill them, you can use our Wild Water Bladder to replenish the tank. The Wild Water Bladder holds up to 100 gallons of water at a time, so you only need to make three trips to fill up even our largest tank. You can place the bladder on our sled or trailer and secure it using the four heavy-duty D-rings. Hitch it up to your vehicle of choice and you’re good to go.
Fill Your Feeders
You can also use the sleds and trailers to transport heavy bags of feed to your Feedbank Gravity Deer Feeders. Our largest feeder holds 600 pounds of feed and our trailers hold up to 1,500 pounds, so you can fill multiple feeders at once, all around your property, in one trip.
Plant Your Food Plots
If you’re finishing up planting any food plots before the heat of summer kicks in, use the trailers to transport all of your tools and equipment in addition to your bags of seeds. You can bring everything you need with you at once.
Making sure your food and water sources are stocked and that your shooting lanes are clear are some of the best things you can do during the off season to manage your land. Use our Trail Runner trailers and sleds for your land management this summer and set yourself up to have a quality piece of hunting land in the fall.
