Stay warm during bitter winter hunts by putting a heater in your hunting Banks blind.

Using a Heater in a Hunting Blind

An elevated hunting blind is key to late-season deer hunting success for the main reason of battling weather for long sits. Even without a heater, our enclosed hunting blinds protect hunters from the wind, rain, snow and sleet. Add a heater and you may have to fight the temptation to take a nap. It’s that comfortable.

The Stump series of elevated tower blinds is a more favorable method to hunt when the weather gets nasty. Safe to use with any heater approved for indoor use, it makes hunting in sub-freezing temperatures not something to dread, but look forward to. Major shifts in weather get the deer moving, and lower the hunting pressure because most people are inside.

If you are ready to see some late-season deer action from the comfort of your Banks blind, keep these tips in mind:

The Right Heater

While any heater approved for indoor use can be used in our hunting blinds, a portable propane heater like the Mr. Heater Little Buddy Propane Heater is perfect for hunting blinds. It’s lightweight, quiet and clean burning. Be sure to visit company website to get more information from real experts.

Prepare for Condensation

When interior humidity rises as temperatures drop outdoors, condensation can occur on glass surfaces. It’s the reverse of what happens to your favorite cold beverage on a hot summer day. That’s the nature of the beast and it can fog your hunting blind windows. To minimize it, keep a small squeegee handy or use a little battery powered fan. Some also say wiping the windows with shaving cream or soap helps, but we’ve not tested this. If this has worked for you, please comment below.

Regardless of where you hunt, from the Deep South to the Great White North, a Banks blind is going to help you stay out longer. Cool on hot days and warm when the frigid air arrives, these blinds are both ventilated and insulated. Don’t let an uncomfortable old box blind shorten your days afield.

I love my banks blind, however I struggled hard with the windows fogging up, I will try some of your remedies for that! I also just came home from a hunt down south and unless you can open windows in your favor you will sweat something horrible, but wouldn’t ever consider buying a different blind!
