We’re right in the thick of rut season, so it’s time to break out those antler rattlers, ramp up the calling intensity and call in some doe-crazed bucks. Our Stump 4 360° hunting blind provides you with the opportunity to shoot from multiple windows all around the blind. The 360° view was designed with the hope that you’ll never miss an opportunity for a buck because of a bad angle. Learn more about our innovative blind, below.
About the Blind
Our Stump 4 360° Whitetail Properties Pro Hunter Phantom blind comes equipped with eight windows, 30 sq ft of room, the curtain kit, wall insulation, a storage shelf with a light, a bi-pod shooting stick, bow hanger, carbon filters, anchor kit, towel, coat hooks and a locking door handle. The blind fits up to three people and the windows go all the way around the blind, so each person can set up their own shooting area without crossing over either of the other hunters in the blind.
Standard since 2023, each blind comes with our Phantom windows. The covering on these windows adapts to the ambient lighting, so you’ll remain concealed no matter what time of day you’re hunting. Whether it’s low-light sunrise or sunset, or harsh-light afternoon sun, the window will appear opaque to anyone or anything outside the blind, including deer. You, and any other hunters in the blind, can see out but the deer can’t see in.
Positioning Tips
All hunters know, bucks go a bit crazy during the rut season. Their activity will increase and you might see them all day even if you normally see them only at dawn and dusk during the summer. In their quest to breed, bucks and does will leave rubs and scrapes throughout the woods. Does use it to let bucks know they’re in the area, and bucks do it to mark their territory with other bucks. The deer will rub their face, head, and antlers along low-hanging branches and paw at the ground to release scent from their glands. Bucks will also urinate on the ground to further mark their territory.
So, knowing this, positioning yourself facing a tree line where you’ve spotted rubs and scrapes is a great way to catch deer checking out the latest “scent news.” If you and your hunting partner set up at windows next to each other, or a couple windows apart, you can each take shots at the same deer. If you want to claim your own areas, sit back-to-back, with each of you facing out of opposite windows. You could each be facing trees on opposite sides of a clearing, or one of you could be facing the trees while the other one is facing the entrance to a food plot.
If you’re elevating your blind, don’t forget to account for the elevation in your calculations when determining how far away the deer is.
Whether you’re hunting solo or with a hunting partner, the eight options in the Stump 4 360° blind will give you plenty of angles to choose from. Rut season is peak activity time for deer, so angle yourself toward rubs and scrapes, use antler rattles and move smoothly from window to window as you try to harvest your next deer.
