Though the temperatures aren’t even close to spring-like yet in Minnesota thanks to a March blizzard, we have to look ahead to sunnier times and know that they’re waiting for us just beyond the horizon once the snow eventually melts. As you dream about those sunnier times, start planning how you’ll set up your water systems to draw in the big game for the fall deer season. Check out the benefits of our Wild Water Systems, below.

Room For Multiple Deer

Our Wild Water Systems have troughs that are up to three feet long, allowing room for multiple deer from the herd to drink from the system at the same time. The Wild Water 50 and Wild Water 100 troughs each have one trough that’s 2 inches long. The Wild Water 300 trough has two troughs that are each 3 feet long. These long troughs will make the system seem more like a natural water source like a river or pond, encouraging the deer to keep coming back to it.

Refills Automatically

The troughs of the systems have a float valve system that opens the valve leading from the tank to the trough when it senses there isn’t enough water in the tank and closes it when it senses it’s full. This means that you can fill the tank up to the brim and leave it alone for months without having to refill it. The troughs will automatically refill as the deer come by to drink from it. You’ll, of course, need to periodically fill the main tank back up, but thanks to the options of 50, 100 and 300 gallons, you won’t have to do that very often.

Use the Wild Water Bladder to Cut Down on Trips

When you do need to inevitably fill the tank, you can use our Wild Water Bladder to cut down on the amount of trips you’ll need to take from the system to the house. The bladder holds up to 100 gallons of water, so if you choose our Wild Water 300 system, you only need to make three trips. It comes with four heavy-duty D-rings, so you’ll be able to secure it to your Trail Runner 62 and easily pull the trail runner by hand, or attach it to your ATV via the included steel hitch. The Trail Runner can haul up to 1,500 pounds, so you can easily haul the full bladder with room for more.

Bring the Herd to You

Having a reliable water system on your hunting property will encourage the deer herd to keep coming back throughout the spring and summer as they seek to replenish what they lost during the harsh winter. Once they’ve become dependent on your property, they’re more likely to keep coming back during the hunting season. Setting up your water systems now, in the spring, will secure their habits by the time the season opens. Take this spring to scout out deer behavior and place your system where you notice deer are passing through. Set up your Stump blind nearby and create your own shooting lane between the water source and your blind. As always, check your state’s regulations on manmade food and water sources and supplemental feeding.
