School’s out for the summer, the temperatures are rising and we’re all soaking up the summer sun. As we start grilling out and enjoying everything that comes with outdoor summer fun, we also need to make sure we stay hydrated, and that includes deer. Keep your water systems filled to help provide the deer herd with a reliable source of hydration all summer long.

When Other Systems Dry Up, Yours Will Be Stocked

If we go too long without rain during the hot summer months, water levels start to decrease and natural sources begin to dry up. The hot summer sun causes the water to slowly evaporate. Having a reliable water source on your property that’s separate from natural sources will allow you to keep your property stocked with water even when the weather isn’t cooperating.

Our Wild Water Systems hold up to 300 gallons of water in the tank and have an automatic valve that senses when the water troughs are empty. They fill themselves without you having to travel to the system at all. You’ll only need to refill the main tank periodically. Our Wild Water Bladder holds 100 gallons of water so you can fill our Wild Water 100 system in one shot.

Deer can drink about five quarts of water each day. They get a lot of that water content from the foods and plants they’re eating, so if the food sources on or near your property are dried out, the deer herd will seek out their water from direct sources like streams or your Wild Water System.

Add Minerals

Add our Wild Water Mineral Supplements to your water systems to provide the deer with a solid mixture of all the nutrients they need. Deer are very in-tune to their levels, so if they notice that they’re getting the right nutrients from your property, they’ll come back. Salt is the first ingredient in the supplements and that, along with the five different flavors, will create an addictive quality that will bring the deer back to your land throughout the summer and well into hunting season.

You can add the supplements to any water source, whether it’s a natural source like a pond or a manufactured one like our Wild Water Systems. One bag treats 100 gallons of water so you’ll need one bag for our Wild Water 100 systems and three bags for our Wild Water 300.

Some places don’t allow supplemental feeding for deer, so make sure to check your state’s regulations before putting out a water system or using our minerals.

Deer know how to forage for what they need. If they find that your property is providing a consistent water source and they get the nutrients they need from it, they’ll come back and keep using it. Make sure your tanks are filled so that the herd can drink from the troughs of the Wild Water Systems all summer to replenish what they’re losing in the summer heat. The nutrients of the supplements will encourage antler growth and keep the herd coming back to your property this fall hunting season.

How do you set up your water systems to give the deer herd a reliable water source during the summer months? Do you fill the tanks with supplements? What’s your go-to flavor? Let us know in the comments below!
